Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Miriam Ismail
Miriam Ismail is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who works with teens, young adults, and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward.
She has a strong focus on supporting teens and students navigating school-related stress—whether that’s academic pressure, family expectations, burnout, or the emotional ups and downs that come with high school and post-secondary life. Many of the people she works with feel like they’re constantly trying to keep up, while quietly struggling with anxiety, low mood, or self-doubt.
Miriam also supports individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, and loss in all forms. This can include the loss of a loved one, changes in relationships, or shifts in identity and direction. She works with those who feel emotionally drained, disconnected, or unsure of who they are—especially when it comes to self-esteem, identity, and sexuality.
She has an understanding of caregiver burnout and the weight that comes with constantly showing up for others, often at the expense of your own needs.
Miriam offers a warm, non-judgmental space where people can slow down, make sense of what they’re going through, and begin to feel more grounded and clear. Her approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), helping clients build tools they can actually use in their day-to-day lives.
She holds a double major undergraduate degree in Psychology and Health Sciences, with a minor in Disability Studies, which informs her inclusive and person-centred approach.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, lost, or unsure of what comes next, you don’t have to figure it out alone. You’re welcome to reach out to learn more or see if working together feels like a good fit.
